The Minister of Health, Environment and Nature has announced that completing the amendment to the Nuisance Ordinance is high on her list of priorities. In order to amend the ordinance, new air quality standards must first be formulated by the Ministry in consultation with the implementing body for Legislation and Legal Affairs. This was determined by the court in a ruling of 19 July 2022. The new air quality standards must be included in the Nuisance Ordinance for the potential new operator when restarting the refinery.
The entry into force of the amended Regulation is estimated at mid-2023.
