On December 21, 2022, the National Ordinance on the Standardization of Top Incomes came into effect in Curaçao and means that the annual salary of directors of government companies such as Aqualectra, the ADC lab and Curoil is capped. The introduction of this national ordinance is one of the conditions set by the Netherlands to abolish the 12.5% salary cut on the salary of civil servants
